Which comes first – the rules of the law or of love? For the lawyers and the Pharisees, keeping the law was far more important. According to Jewish law, you could help someone on the Sabbath only if his or her life was threatened, and they did not consider that the sick man whom Jesus healed was in any danger.
Jesus on the other hand considered the wellbeing of the children of God more important and as a result, any sick person could be healed on the Sabbath. We all have certain rules we live by, but such rules should not prevent us from doing acts of mercy whenever necessary (Luke 10:30‐37).
Humility is a character trait that is very much in short supply in our day and age. There is a popular saying these days that, ”if you don’t say ‘I am’, nobody will say ‘thou art’”.
The way Jesus lived His life here on earth leaves us with the best example of humility to follow (Philippians 2:5‐11). God promises more grace and exaltation for us if we remain humble (1 Peter 5:5‐6)

• Lord Jesus, help me to follow in your footsteps and to learn to always humble myself in all situations.

› For making us citizens of heaven who are temporarily here on earth.
› Constantly reminding us that we are pilgrims, hence need to invest more for eternity.
PRAY FOR:
› Total yieldedness as we obediently follow God’s command in SU and in all we do.
› SU staff, pilgrims, youths and children; that our focus will be to inherit the imperishable things reserved for us in heaven.
› Brethren to always seek first what will promote the growth of the kingdom of God is all we do.
PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Unclean practices and the application of worldly strategies in any of the Groups, Zone, Area, Region or even National.
∷ Anything that will not glorify the name of Christ in all we do.
