Topic: Then Men Began To Call On The Name of The Lord

Opening Prayer: Oh Lord, grant me divine guidance as I read and meditate on your word in Jesus name.

Scripture: Genesis 4:17‐26

Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 2 April 2022 MESSAGE

Man became worse when he was left on his own. Life outside of God and His purpose for us is a tragedy. However, God in His grace enabled man to invent items that made life possible and enjoyable (vs.20‐22). How do you use the things the Lord has provided for you in this life? It is worthy to notice the two groups of people who emerged over time: 1.

Those who were indifferent to sin and evil (vs.23,24) and 2. Those who worshipped and honoured the Lord (v.26). To which of these two groups do you belong? You can become instrumental to introducing light into your dark environment, breaking the evil jinx: family, school, office, neighbourhood etc. See Matthew 5:13‐16.

You can be today’s Enosh (v.26). Lamech may be the first polygamist recorded. He was also a confessed murderer. What kind of confession is this (vs.23‐24)? In mentioning Cain, he was aware of some family history in the last four to five generations. Unfortunately, his confession lacked any sense of repentance and had no hope of forgiveness. But in the gospel, there is challenge to repentance and offer of forgiveness.

Practice/Word Application
So what? Some people believe that there is so much evil today that it is better to flow with the current. Pray that God will use you and your family to prove that in Jesus Christ, Christians are able to swim against the current.

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Pray that God will use you and your family to prove that in Jesus Christ, Christians are able to swim against the current.

Prayer for the week
• Pray for Christian parents that they will continue to teach and stand for the truth in their homes. Pray that God will help them raise godly seeds in this generation. Pray that all their efforts will be backed by the grace of God.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 40:2

One Year Bible Reading Plan
Deuteronomy 18, 19, Acts 25.

PRAYER FOCUS

THE RIGHT WAY
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to your word. Psalm 119: 9

THANK GOD FOR:
› Helping us to stand in the good way and walk in it.
› The rest He has promised all his children who walk in His way.

PRAY FOR:
› A blameless walk as we continue in SU to work with children, youth and families.
› Careful watch of the path of our feet to ensure they do not fail to meet the Master’s demand.
› Grace to spend more time with the Master so He will show us the way to walk and the work to do for Him this month.

PRAY AGAINST:
∷ Going on in our own way and failing to participate in the church, fellowship or even family devotion, where we will hear from God.
∷ Choosing our own way instead of choosing the godly way.
