Scripture Union Daily Guide 10 March 2022 MESSAGE
God presents Himself here as a faithful promise keeper. The portions of land and their boundaries referred to here are similar to those originally promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (see Genesis 13:15, 15:18, 26:3 and 28:13) and given to Moses (Numbers 34:1‐15).
Note how God gave specific landmarks to the north, east, south, and west.
This is sometimes referred to as the borders of Israel in the period of Ezekiel’s temple, a period regarded as the millennial reign of Jesus the Messiah. We also see that once the land has been allocated by God, He also shows His concern to those who may be strangers dwelling amongst Israel, those from other lands and ethnic groups.
They are neither to be excluded in the blessing of the land nor discriminated against. Instead, they are to be given the same privileges ‘as native‐born among the children of Israel’ (v.22). This contrasts sharply with how foreigners are treated in many countries. They are often victims of racist attacks and other abuses.
People of God who look forward to God’s Kingdom where God does not discriminate should help our policy makers become more considerate and humane towards those who may be foreigners in our nations.

IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, GOD ONLY WISE
1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise, In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes, Most bless?d, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
- Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, Nor striving, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might; Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above Thy clouds, which are fountains Of mercy and love.
-
To all life Thou givest, to both great and small; In all life Thou livest, the true life of all; We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, To wither and perish? But naught changeth Thee.
-
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light, Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight; Of all Thy good graces, this grace, Lord, impart? Remove Thou the veil from Our faces and heart.
Closing Prayer
• Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness in keeping promises and your generosity extended to all men irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds.
