When You Know Better
by Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman
BIBLE READING:Â Deuteronomy 22-24
TEXT: “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh forwards things”. – Proverbs 2 :10 – 12.
Rhema for Living 4 March 2022 Devotional MESSAGE
God deals with His children according to their level of understanding. In the kingdom, everyone is not on the same level, there are spiritual rankings. There are babes and there are sons, there are elders, there are priests and there are high priests.
If therefore you know better in the things of God, God expects you behave better and be more responsible. He deals with you as a son who knows what the Father delights in and does them, staying away from whatever displeases the Father.
That is why some certain things He rebukes and chastises you over, some other persons may do them and get away with them.
As rightly stated in our anchor text, when you know better, you don’t become a victim of satanic plots and schemes because your discretion is sharp and preserves you, your understanding decodes and unravels the plots and keeps you from every evil. The reason people become victim of certain evil is because they lack wisdom and understanding and do not know better than what came to confront them.
A man who knows better cannot be dragged into unnecessary discussion, arguments or fight with a fool. A fool had no ability to comprehend and has no dignity to protect. When a wise man contends with a foolish man, he is the one that loses virtues Prov. 29 :9.
When you know better, it is not every statement you respond or react to. There is place for temperance, a fruit of the spirit.
A person of understanding exercises self-control thereby dominating events and not the other way round.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, no more will I display lack of knowledge.
