The waiting time between the death of Jesus and His resurrection, though three days was one of the longest of time. It was a period of transition from humanity to divinity, from the promise to reality, from the statement”…After three days I will rise again.” (Matthew 23:63), to actually rising again.
At that period, a number of things took place. The disciples of Jesus, though sad over His death, were hopeful and anxiously waiting for His resurrection. They held unto His word that He would rise again. At the same time the enemies who crucified Him, also very conscious of His promise to rise again on the third day, were afraid that it may happen thereby making their last error worst than the first. Hence they plead with pilate to give a command to make the sepulchre very sure to stop anything about resurrection and pilate gave the command for them to make the sepulchre sure as they can and they sealed it with a stone and set a watch to monitor it. Matthew 27:63-66.
Are there not promises in your life that you are still waiting to manifest? The time keep counting on as if it is delaying? It is like the waiting time between the death and the resurrection of Jesus. While you are waiting earnestly with high expectation to see it come to pass, the adversaries of your soul are fighting it’s fulfillment. Their expectation is to see you frustrated. But God’s word says , there is an end to waiting and the expectation of the righteous shall not be truncated (Prov. 23:18). It shall end in gladness, while that of the wicked shall perish ( Prov. 10:28).
Your waiting is about to turn to celebration.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, thank you for your promises which are very sure.
