MFM Command Your Day 14 January 2024 – Sunday
COMMAND YOUR DAY
Sunday, January 14, 2024
TOPIC: CHRIST MY REDEEMER LIVETH
Mem. Verse: 1 Jn. 2:2: “And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world”.
Reading: Gal. 3:10-13.
The Lord says that this shall be a year of multiple trials for some people. They shall be tried over the first commandment that says “Thou shall have no other gods before Me” (Ex. 20:3). The God that you serve shall justify you. The sin of Adam brought a curse upon mankind (Gen. 3:17). To remove this burden, man devised religion as a means of making peace with God. In the O.T., Moses taught the Israelites to offer certain animals as atonement for sin (Lev. 16:7-9).
However, the multitude of animals sacrificed as sin offering could not calm God’s anger against mankind. The only way to calm Him was to offer a lasting sacrifice. Because of His love for man, His creation, He decided to provide the escape goat (Azazel) that would carry away the sin of man and save him from the punishment of eternal death.
Jesus Christ, the God-man, offered Himself as the Lamb to be offered once for the sin of man (Heb. 9:26). Before Jesus went to the Cross of Cavalry, He had no sin at all. On the afternoon of His crucifixion, the sin of man was poured on Him. Then, He became a curse. This was how Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law of condemnation (Deut. 21:23).
Jesus purchased our freedom from the punishment of death by substituting His life for us sinners. This is called redemption. Therefore, let no man take you to a shrine this year or ask you to buy a goat, ram or cow to offer sacrifice. Tell that person that Jesus has been offered free of charge as the only sacrifice acceptable to God. Christ has been made the atoning sacrifice (propitiation) for your sin (1 Jn. 2:2).
Jesus is presently in the court of heaven as your Lawyer and your Righteousness. When any one lays a charge on you, and you plead the blood of Jesus, He will tell God, His Father, that His death at Calvary has made you right and your sin is forgiven (1Jn. 1:9). Every offense against you is cancelled. You are now justified, very soon you shall be glorified.
Jesus your redeemer liveth.
