Daily Guide 16th November 2024 (Scripture Union) OUTLINE
Daniel’s dream concerns the future, referred to as, “the time of the end” or “the time of wrath” (vs.17,19,26). It wasn’t just the immediate future as was fulfilled in the coming of the Medo-Persia and Greece kingdoms, but also the time of the end when all human kingdoms will come to an end and the Lord’s kingdom established forever.
Read vs.23-25 again. Though this is a fitting description of Antiochus Epiphanes and what he did to the people of God; it also speaks of a future coming ruler at the time of the end.Note his character and what he will do especially to Christ’s followers/Jews. He will be empowered by Satan (v.24), yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power (v.25) but by the Lord Himself.
The last days is a time of rebellion and wickedness, a time when the powers of evil/Satan will be at work. Both now and in the future, believers must resist all activities of the devil, not in their own power, but by the power of the Lord (Revelation 12:11).

Pray for believers in countries and places where they are passing through persecution.
Prayer for the week
* Pray against the activities of swindlers, yahoo yahoo, drug pushers and barons, kidnappers, ritualists etc. • Pray that God will deliver our youths from ‘get-rich-quick’ syndrome • Pray that they will remember their creator now, and turn to Him
Offer a prayer of faith in line with 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
