Today’s Message
My mother died when I was very young. Her death was so sudden that my family and I could not understand what had happened or why. My father was a clergyman and had served the Lord in church all his life, but I felt that my mother’s devotion and prayers kept my family together and happy. She used to get up early and wake us up for morning devotions. We used to sing hymns, pray, and read the Bible together as a family. When my mother died, I wondered how we would survive without her.
However, we continued the habit of praying every morning. We prayed for peace and comfort in our family. And our friends and relatives prayed for us too. I was surprised that I could actually feel God’s comfort in my heart. I could feel that people were praying for us.
This experience taught me that when we need comfort, God will provide it. God is indeed a great provider who knows our needs.
Today’s Prayer
Dear God, thank you for your providence. Comfort us when we grieve, and guide us to pray for and help those in need of comfort. Amen.
