Streams of Joy 14th May 2025 Devotional (Wednesday) Message
TOPIC: Guard Your Consecration
MEMORY VERSE
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (2 Corinthians 6: 17)
SCRIPTURE READING: Judges 16: 1-31
“And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him: and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.” (Judges 16: 5)
When the lords of the Philistines engaged Delilah in a bid to bring down Samson, they were seeking a chance to get to the root of his strength. Those men were seeking a chance to conquer Samson by attacking whatever the source of his strength was. Notice that the strength on Samson was tied to his consecration as a Nazarite. So, what they were looking for, and what they were seeking to undermine, was Samson’s consecration.
Friend, beware of attacks on your consecration. Beware of relationships that deplete and defeat your consecration. Beware of invitations that break your consecration. Beware of people who bring ideas on how you can go against what God has ordained for your life. Beware of environments that encourage you to step out of line, with God and with your divine purpose. Beware of connections that disconnect you from your high calling.
Samson was a Nazarite unto the Lord from his mother’s womb. Certain things were outlawed for him. They were not necessarily sins for others, but they were against his consecration. Sometimes, God would have chosen a path for you that is not popular amongst folks around you; sometimes, what is okay for others may not be okay for you based on heaven’s design; sometimes, the hand of the Lord on you simply keeps you apart.
Samson had no issues with his strength until the day his consecration was broken, and the seven locks of hair on his head were shaved off. His strength was untouchable until his consecration was touched and damaged. Every attack on your consecration is an invitation to lose the strength that God put in you. If you are busy breaking your consecration, or letting people help you break it, you are simply leaking strength.
This is that season when you must guard what God has planted in you. If God has set you apart, don’t seek to be like every other man. If God has placed a demand for you to leave what others can touch, by all means, keep your consecration.
2 Corinthians 6: 17 says: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
DECLARATION: I will guard my consecration; I will not break the hedge of God around me, in Jesus’ name!
