TOPIC: Enquiring From God – A Key to Divine Direction
SCRIPTURE: Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Psalms 2:8.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you ask God questions, you are showing Him that you are helpless without Him.

It has been confirmed that the attitude of enquiry is one posture for Divine Direction. To enquire means to ask questions, to seek to know.
Now, what are the implications of asking God questions?
1. God loves to be asked by His children.
The way a father enjoys being asked questions by his children is the same way God loves to be asked.
Psalms 2:8 says,
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
God loves to be asked.
Matthew 7:7 says,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
2. Asking is a proof of human helplessness and total dependence on God.
When you ask God questions, you are showing Him that you are helpless without Him. When you ask God questions, you are showing Him that you are dependent on Him. And God will never abandon the helpless; He will never forsake those who are dependent on Him.
3. Asking opens the mind and heart to answers.
Asking opens your mind and heart to answers. The process of asking opens you up to answers.
Proverbs 20:5 says,
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
You see, Counsel, advice and answers in the heart of a man is like deep waters; but a man of understanding, that is, a man who knows how to ask questions, will draw it out.
This means, your heart or spirit is loaded with answers but it takes questions to pull them out.
REMEMBER THIS: When you ask God questions, you are showing Him that you are helpless without Him.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to ask God questions in any area of life you need understanding and clarifications.
2. Obey God promptly as soon as He gives you a leading or an instruction.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to enquire from You regarding any area of my life where I need understanding, direction or clarification. Help me to know Your Ways Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
