TOPIC: The Cleansing Power of the Word

SCRIPTURE: wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:9, 11.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Word of God is a Cleanser and Purifier of the child of God.
SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR TODAY:
The Word of God is a Cleanser and Purifier of the child of God. When you hide the Word of God in your heart, you cannot sin against God (Psalm 119:9, 11).
John 15:3 says,
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Also, Ephesians 5:26 says,
“…that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word”
So, the Word of God is a cleanser, a cleaner, an eraser and purifier. Disconnection from Word equals establishment in filth, uncleanness and dirt.
Whatever keeps you in contact with the Word keeps you in contact with consistent cleansing. Criminals are who they are because they are out of touch with the Word of God. They harbour all manner of terrible thoughts and do wicked things because they are out of touch with God’s Word.
Now, what does it mean for the Word of God to be a cleanser?
The Word of God exerts a direct cleansing effect on the child of God.
The Word of God cleanses a person; it exerts a direct cleansing effect on the child of God.
The Scripture says:
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. Ephesians 5:26.
Just as a piece of cloth is thoroughly cleansed when dipped and washed in water, so is a child of God washed and cleansed when he comes under the cleansing power of the Word of God. So, the flow of God’s Word in your life has a direct cleansing effect.
REMEMBER THIS: The Word of God is a cleanser and purifier of the child of God.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Expose yourself to the cleansing power of God’s Word.
2. Allow the Word to cleanse you thoroughly, totally and completely.
PRAYER: Lord, I bring myself under the cleansing Power of Your Word. Let the Word cleanse and remove from my life everything that is not planted by You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
