• What does the passage teach about God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit? • Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
Hebrews 11 is a roll call of men and women (saints) who lived by faith in the Old Testament. They are examples for every generation of believers. In the twenty-first century, we have access to a wide variety of social and scientific information, but there is a lot we still do not know and cannot explain, (like the corona virus or COVID-19 that rattled the world last year).
Read vs.1-2 for the definition of faith. It is by faith that we can see what is invisible to others, hear what is otherwise inaudible, and embark on missions that would appear impossible. By faith we know that there is God responsible for the creation and sustenance of the universe (v.3). Abel made his offering not knowing it would be his last, but he received God’s commendation and though he died young, his life still speaks to all generations (v.4).
Faith enables believers to walk closely with God because we know He is not man and cannot lie. Enoch’s uprightness pleases God. Notice his reward (v.5). Faith enables us to foresee danger and destruction and take action to avoid them. See how Noah exercised this kind of faith and the result, for him and his family (v.7).
God continues to deal with us based on faith alone. Faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, is the only route to salvation.

• Renew my faith, Lord, and strengthen me to stand firm. • Thank God for His provisions through your work place or business and ask for more productive week ahead
Prayer for the week
Pray for brethren whose marriages have issues. Pray for the spirit of forgiveness and willingness to endure and forbear. Pray for the spirit of God to make the brethren to be considerate and make allowance for each other, and not give the devil an opportunity to destroy their lives. Pray for Foundation of Life Ministry and for Christian Foundation Church of God.
