Scripture Union Daily Guide 2nd February 2024 Message

Read Scripture Union Daily Guide 2nd February 2024, Friday SU Daily Guide Reading

TOPIC: God Triumphs Over His Enemies At Last

OPENING PRAYER: I open my heart to meditate on your word, teach me your ways oh Lord.

      TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: PSALM 68:21-35

      Question(s) for Reflection
      • Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
      • Q6: Is there any prayer for me to remember?

SU DAILY GUIDE FOR TODAY 2 FEBRUARY 2024 MESSAGE:

In Psalm 2:1-2, King David had raised a rhetorical question, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing against the Lord…?” In our time, people all over the world are also setting themselves against Christ and the Church.

In this passage, David praised the Lord because He would cause Israel to triumph over their enemies (vs.21-23). He describes the victorious entry of God into Zion, like a parade with singers and musicians (vs.24-27). Notice that everyone, both small and great, was involved in the celebration.

The Church has also been under attack by Satan through the rulers of this earth. But Christ will triumph over them all. All enemies of Christ and the Church will be subdued and come to bow before Him. What should we do while we await His triumphant return (Hebrews 10:35-39)?

Read vs.28-31 again and take note of the prayer in v.28. How we desperately need the manifestation of God’s power like in the days of old! What will be the result of such manifestation of God’s power according to vs.29-34?

      PRACTICE/WORD APPLICATION
What next? In spite of the troubles, we may be going through now, we can rejoice and praise the Lord because victory is ours already through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

      • Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

      CLOSING PRAYER
Father, manifest your power in our time, that the enemies of Christ may come and bow before you.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Genesis 9:1
