Scripture Union Daily Guide 20th February 2021 Message
God’s desire is that all Israelites must obey all His commandments (v.1). Observe what they are to do (vs.2-4) and why (vs.6-8)? God who knows our frame and propensity to forget provides these guidelines to help us overcome our weaknesses and ensure we receive His blessings. Whether we are blessed or cursed is therefore ours to decide, depending on our attitude to God’s word. The key to blessings is obedience. More of what bring blessings tomorrow. The Bible is now available in most major languages all over the world. So, we have no excuse to be ignorant of and disobey God’s word. Read vs.15-28 again and observe the sinful acts which attract curses. Is our society free from any of these today? How often are they mentioned and rebuked in our churches? Altar is a place of meeting with God. We do not build physical altars like the Israelites, but anytime we go before the Lord in prayer, we build spiritual altars on which we offer our praise, worship and thanksgiving.
