DAILY GUIDE 18 JANUARY 2024 OUTLINE BELOW:
The parallel passage in Mark (6:45-52) confirms that the disciples were directed to go on this journey by Jesus. The fact that we are doing God’s will does not debar us from facing the challenges of life. Often the challenges come because we are keenly serving God. See Job 1:6-12. However, we can be assured that the Lord never forsakes His children. Nothing we are going through is beyond His knowledge. He sees us in our difficult situations and will take the right action at the right time. God’s message to us remains the same, “don’t be afraid.”
Notice the purpose of miracles in v.27. Many today continue to rush after those things that give only temporary satisfaction and last for just a little while. Our pulpits are full of prosperity messages that focus people’s attention on the goodies they can get here and now. We fail to help people seek that which satisfies their spiritual hunger and thirst as they look up to Jesus and believe in Him. Why do you seek Jesus?

PRAY FOR:
• Grace to choose this one important thing above all else – abiding in His presence
PRAY AGAINST:
• Every distraction that keeps us occupied so that we don’t have time for His presence.
