Opening Prayer: My dear heavenly Father, as I study your word, let it be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

We noted on Sunday that we Christians are now set apart for God as the priests He has ordained for His royal service, (1 Peter 2:9). Bear this in mind as you go through this passage. vs.15‐16: What was different about the Levitical priests, and what does that say to you? vs.17‐22: Not everything about the priests of old apply to us today, because we are no longer under the Law of Moses.
However, some things still apply. (See Romans 6:14‐15). What can you apply in these verses to your life and conduct today? What are your reasons? vs.23‐27: By his teaching and example, a priest must demonstrate and reflect God’s holiness in different ways. In what ways can you apply the principles in these verses to your life today? vs.28‐31: God provides very richly for the material needs of the priests.

We too must support the priests and pastors He has appointed to look after our spiritual welfare. He has promised to look after each one of us as His priests as well (Luke 12:27‐31; Philippians 4:19).
