Scripture Union Daily Guide 17 April 2020

TOPIC: Praising God through His creation

OPENING PRAYER: As I read through this passage dear Lord, let your word bring transformation to my life.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 104: 1–18

REFLECTION
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
• What is God revealing to me in this passage?

Scripture Union Daily Guide 17 April 2020

OUTLINE: Do you write poems or songs? Like the psalmist, we can write poems, songs and other stories that are Bible based as a way of celebrating the greatness of our God and to make him known to the whole world. In vv.2–18, the psalmist describes what God created from day one to three (Genesis 1:1–13). How does the beauty of God’s creation around you show his greatness? As you read this psalm, how do you feel about your environment compared with what God created? How can you make it better? Read v.5 again and note the emphatic declaration of the psalmist. The earth is built by God on a sure foundation; it cannot be moved by anybody, except God himself. This should comfort us that in spite of all the troubles going on, our God is still in control of the affairs of this world. Vv.10–18 show that God did not only create, but he also maintains and cares for his creatures. Which of these verses is of particular interest to you for which you must praise God?

⁂ Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Practice/Word Application

• What next? Think of how you can employ your five senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching to glorify God for his creation.

CLOSING PRAYER
• Lord, give me understanding of your revelation in creation so that I will always appreciate and praise you.
• Pray for Christian writers to have more inspiration.
• Offer a prayer of faith in line with Deuteronomy 31:6
