SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:1‐8

In Africa, the last words of a dying man are always taken seriously (see Genesis 24:1‐4; 27:1‐4; 49:29‐33 and 50:24‐26). Jesus Christ before His ascension also gave a parting word to the disciples in Matthew 28:16‐20.
Read it. Paul here also gave his last words and instructions to Timothy and all Christians. Read v.2 again and notice the charge to Timothy. How does this define what the content of Christian sermons should be? In vs.3‐4, Paul then gives the reasons for the charge. Scripture Union Daily Guide 14 July 2022
At a time when watering down of the gospel, compromise, myths, motivational messages, human philosophy, etc have taken over many pulpits, we need this charge again. The Church is in this state because people want to be accepted, pull crowds, avoid suffering and make merchandise of the souls of men in the name of prosperity.
Read vs.6‐8 and reflect on the certainty, assurance and expectation of Paul and encouragement to all who are expecting second Christ’s coming.

And so? Open doors to preach the Word of God is often available for a limited time only. Let us seize the opportunity we have now!

☛ SU Brethren that we will continue to use God’ s word to awaken and energize our hearts as we continue a wait the coming of the Lord.
☛ Deliberate application of the word of God, and the truth therein in all that we do.
☛ The discipline needed to build our lives around the truth of God’ s word as allow to shape all we do.
PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Replacing the word of God, the complete gospel with any other thing.
⚠ Making light of our daily quiet time with God, studying His word and Bible study.
