We wear many labels. Some we’ve placed on ourselves. More often than not, others have labeled us – based on what we do, how we perform, or what others think of us. Labels have adhesive on them. They stick! If we’re not careful, our true identities can quickly become lost in them.
Who does God say you are? You are His beloved! You are His dream come true! You began with a thought and were transformed into His likeness in the earth! You are so special that no one else has your fingerprints or your DNA – you are uniquely you. There is a place in God’s heart that only you can fill.
If you were an only child, Jesus still would have died for you. That’s how precious and valuable you are to Him. You have a Divine purpose, and no label applied on earth can take that from you. The only label that matters: You are God’s beloved child!
PRAYER: Gracious Lord: Your banner over me is love! I am thankful to be Your beloved child. Please remind me of this truth as I move through this day – wearing lesser labels that I and others have applied to my life. I am a child of God! I am a beloved child of God! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
