TOPIC: Provoking Divine Favour (8)
DAILY BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 22-24
TEXT: “And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.” – Deut. 33 :23.
Your lineage is that of favour. You are to be satisfied with favour and full of the blessing of the Lord. There is a limit to the satisfaction that labour can give you; it is only favour that can make a man’s face to glow continually because what He has is not a product of his efforts but by the favour of God. This is very reason that you have to be a person of prayer in order to continually provoke the favour of God upon your life. There are oppositions that abound and aim to disconnect the people of God from their divine destinies in God.
Apostle Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 16 :9; “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries”. You must be ready to get rid of both internal and external adversaries on the altar of prayer to access your open door of favour. Esther, Mordecai and the entire Jews engaged in a three-day fast and prayed and Esther went in to the king and obtained favour which took off Haman their adversary.
Nehemiah engaged in a fast and prayed that the good hand of God should rest upon him before the king so that he would be allowed to go and build the broken down walls of Jerusalem and with that favour, he overcame Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem and all the adversaries against the work.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, every oppositions to my being favoured, I crush you by fire.
