Seekers of the Kingdom (2)

BIBLE READING:Â Job: 31-33
TEXT: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6 :33.
OFM Rhema For Living 5th June 2023 MESSAGE: When you look critically at our anchor text, you will discover that it did not rule out the possibility of seeking after other things which the Gentiles seek after. It’s intention is for believers to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness their priority, their primary focus thereby making other things secondary. And as they seek after the kingdom, those things which others make their priority will be added unto them by God.
Meaning if one seeks the kingdom of God first, other things which are also necessary to live prosperously in life in every aspect are added by God to one. In other words, while others struggle and undergo stress and labour in getting those things such as riches, promotion, wealth, the seekers of the kingdom enjoy divine favour from God who gives them those things to fulfill His promise to them.
No one makes the kingdom of God first and does not enjoy abundance of what the Gentiles seek after. 1 kings 17; Elijah the servant of God instructed the widow whom God sent him to in Zarephath to first make a little cake for him from the handful of meal and a little oil which she said she and her son would eat and die, before preparing the remaining for them.
He told her that the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruise of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth. And when she obeyed, God did for her exactly as Elijah declared and she and her son lived in plenty.
No one can out give God, if you seek first the kingdom, God downloads His blessings upon your life.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me to seek first your kingdom and righteousness.
