The Power of Praise
by Rev. (Dr) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Psalm 19, 21

TEXT: Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. Psalms 145 :3.

The power of praise cannot be fully exhausted because so long it is where God dwells; the unexpected which beats man’s imagination is ever bound to happen.

Praise is appreciating God for His person. It is appreciating Him for what He is. God is a good God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the owner of your soul, the very reason for your existence.

Praise is what God cannot do for Himself, so when you praise Him, He does what you cannot do for yourself, and and you will know that it is not the deed of man but of God. He says in Jeremiah 32 :27; “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”

Nothing is hard for God to do; praise opens you to the fearful and terrible acts of God. Scripture says, “… Glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders.” Exod.15 :11.

The wonders of God come alive in praise. What a wonder that happened in 2 Chron. 20 :20! As the children of Israel began to praise God in the midst of a fierce opposition, the terrible wonder-working God set an ambush against the four nations and they began to fight themselves till they were no more.

The Israelites only came to carry the spoils of war which they never fought. Why? Because praise went up and God came down.

If you can praise God, you will experience His wonders in your life.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I activate the will to praise you always.
