Be Kind to People (2)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 41-42

TEXT: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4 :32.

Child of God, be kind to people, your act of kindness will speak for you in time of need. In Exodus 2 :15 – 21; Moses’ act of kindness answered the immediate needs of his life and gave him a place for preparation awaiting the next phase of his destiny. He had fled from Pharaoh who sought to slay him to the land of Midian and sat down by a well.

While there, seven females who were the daughters of the priest of Midian came to draw water to water their father’s flocks, and the shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up and helped them and watered their flock. Moses had a challenge, he was on the run, but his kind nature made him look away from his need and helped them in meeting their need.

And when they came to Reuel their father, he asked why they returned so early and he was told how an Egyptian, (which is Moses) delivered them from the hand of the shepherd and drew water enough for them and watered their flock. And he asked his daughters were Moses was and Moses was invited over to eat bread and he gave him shelter and Moses was content and dwelt with him. He also gave Moses his daughter Zipporath as wife.

Listen, in meeting the needs of others, you meet your own needs. As stated earlier in the course of this message, acts of kindness are sacrificial. It may demand you going out of your comfort zone, ignoring your own challenge to attend to others as Moses did, also Joseph in the prison to the two servants of Pharaoh who dreamt and were sad because there was no interpreter. Genesis 40 :6 – 13.
Make it a point of duty to always be kind to people. When you are kind you facilitate divine plans in your life as Rebecca enjoyed. Gen. 24:

I pray for you, your kindness will speak for you.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I choose to be kind; help me Lord.
