Things the Lord Hates (4)

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Genesis 48-50
TEXT: “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him; An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief.” Proverbs 6 :16 & 18.
Today we shall look into another thing which the Lord hates: A HEART THAT DEVISETH WICKED IMAGINATION.
The imagination of the heart is very important because it determines the outcome of a person, how he sees things, what he says and eventually does. So if the imagination is of evil or wickedness, so will the person be and so also if it is of good and godliness.
No wonder in Genesis chapter 6, when God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart and that was what led to the destruction of the earth with flood.
A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations always plans or schemes evil against others. It is a heart preoccupied with evil plots to cause pain, tears and sorrow. It can imagine how someone can drop dead, be sacked, fall sick etc. And God hates such a heart, hence He gave a solution to destroying such imagination. In 2 COR. 10 :4 – 5; it states, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but might through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
” So you have a duty to cast down every imagination against your life and interest.
And as a child of God, your heart should only imagine great things in line with the word of God as prescribed in. Phil. 4 :8. And paradventure your heart is polluted, by the blood, it will be restored. 2 Tim. 2 :21; 1 Cor. 5 :7; Heb. 9 :14.
I see your heart whole to the glory of God.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I cast down every evil imagination in the heart of men against me, in Jesus name.
