The Christians race is an ever forward and progressive race with your focus on Him who has called you and your drive on things before you. Looking back is an anti-covenant habit, which makes one unfit for the kingdom of God.
However you may see it, what you left behind can never be compared to where you are and what is before you, so don’t look back, focus on where God is taking you. Even if you felt you made a mistake in the decision you took yesterday which is causing you pain today, that is past, let it go, don’t look back, your today and future is stronger than that past. The ways of God are mysterious, what you may see as a mistake are part of the packages to sharpen your life for the glory ahead. Your God who gave His only begotten son for you in order to have more so ns making you a joint heir, would not leave you halfway. He is leading the way and says follow me, “I am the way, truth, and the life…” John 14 :6.
“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12. And to follow Him, He says, don’t look back to where you are coming from, cut off completely from Egypt and its lifestyle.
In Genesis 19 :26; Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt when she looked back despite the instruction, “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee.” vs 17.
She looked back probably at Sodom and Gomorrah because she remembered what she felt were treasures and pleasant which she was leaving behind for what and where she was not certain which they were running to. She did not remember the sin, atrocities, dangers and all forms of evil they were escaping from.
Child of God; don’t look back, trust God and focus on the glory ahead.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I fix my eyes on you. I will not look back.
