BIBLE READING:Â 1 Kings 13-15
TEXT: “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.” – 1 Sam. 16 :13.
OFM Rhema For Living 13 April 2023 MESSAGE: Strategy is stronger than energy. There is a way to fight a war and win cheaply. The reason it was only David that could face Goliath in the midst of the battle was because he had been anointed. To win in the battle of life, you must have the oil.
Samuel took a born of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brethren and the oil began to look for an avenue for expression. In the same vein, if you have fresh oil, it must definitely look for ways of expression through you.
When oil comes upon a man, it begins to look for expression. It is an enemy-locating oil. It was the oil upon David that gave David the audacity, capacity and authority to stand before Goliath face-to-face and declare that his head would go off his neck that day
You need the oil to bring down that Goliath confronting you. Psalms 92 :10; “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn if an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil”.
For every new level, there is a new devil but fresh oil crushes every new devil assigned to fight you.
Jesus said, “The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives…” (Luke 4 :18 – 19).
And Isaiah 10 :27; says …that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Know this – the anointing is for a reason, it has a purpose and a target.
I pray for you, may the oil you need to crush that devil come afresh on you as you pray now.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, anoint me with a fresh oil for battle.
