MESSAGE TOPIC: MOVING FROM WHO YOU USED TO BE TO WHOYOU ARE MEANT TO BE – THE DAVID EXPERIENCE

The summary of David’s life is success against all odds

WHO WAS DAVID?
1. David was the passionate lover of God – the man after God’s heart (1Sam. 13:14; Acts 13:11; Ps. 63:1-2; 42:1-2; 27:4)
2. David was the sweet psalmist of Israel (2Sam. 23:1; Ps. 119:164)
3. David was the addict of the house of God (Ps. 122:1-2; 84:7, 10)
Until you settle your priorities you don’t take your authority
4. David was the Kingdom prayer champion (Ps. 55:17; 54:1-2; 3:4)
David was prayer personified; he was a specialist in judgmental prayer
5. David was the fearless, lion-killing, giant-leveling fighter (1Sam. 17:34-36, 44-48)
6. David was the excellent, A-rated instrumentalist of Israel (1Sam. 16:17-18)
7. David was the highly skilled leader/human potentials developer (1Sam. 22:1-2; 2Sam. 23:8-25)
David was a specialist in turning nonentities into somentities
Lion killers raise lion killers, and giant killers raise giant killers
Beware who is raising you because you may become like him!

WHAT ODDS WERE AGAINST DAVID?
1. Family rejection (1 Sam. 16:1-2; Ps. 27:10)
It doesn’t matter who doesn’t believe in you as far as God Your Maker believes in you and you believe in the purpose of God for your life
2. Undiscovered, undercover and covered potential (1Sam. 16:17-18)
If you carry fire and there is no possibility of expression, calm down; when he places you on a bicycle, he will cause you to overtake an aeroplane.
3. Background existence (1Sam. 16:11)
The devil doesn’t care what you can do as long as nobody knows
4. Continual exposure to dangers and hazards
When the enemy knows that you have a future and a destiny he will try to encounter you with hazards
5. Murderous envy and jealousy from his master (1Sam. 18:10-11)
Those who want good people dead never succeed
6. Oil on the head without a vacant throne
Unction without the possibility to function
The oil on the head of David was detained until the time appointed
7. Betrayal from unbelievable quarters (1Sam. 23:1)

WHAT DO YOU DO (WHAT DID DAVID DO TO END HIS SITUATION)?
1. Maintain your for God
2. Maintain your commitment to the Father’s assignment
3. Maintain your commitment to personal potentials development
4. Maintain commitment to the defence of the Name of God (1Sam. 17:26)
5. Maintain commitment to the extra mile operation
If you want the extra height in life you must go the extra mile

1. Commitment to loving and lifting others (1Sam. 30:11-13; 1Sam. 22:1-2; Judg. 2:10)
   Far ahead of your signs and wonders in ministry is the impact of the people you raise
   Who is taking steps after your steps?
   Teach, preach and minister with a discipleship mentality, not an entertainment mentality.
   Who are you laying hands on? Who is acquiring the fire you have acquired?

2. Refuse to destroy your master (1Sam. 24:6-7)
   Don’t kill the king so that you can take the throne even though the oil is on your head; let God give you the throne
   Masters may not be perfect but if any destruction may come to that master it should not be from you

3. Be addicted to Divine direction (1Sam. 30:8)

4. Decide to work while you wait
   Don’t wait for the throne to be vacant before you perform the duties of the king, go ahead and perform the duties of the king while the throne is in preparation
5. Be given to continuous and extensive sacrifice (Ps. 132:1-5)

PRAYERS
**Father, whatever You did for David that made him to leave where he was to where he arrived, do it for me Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
**Father, lay Your help on me; that help that You laid on David, lay it on me Lord, in Jesus’ Name. (Ps. 89:19-20)

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
– Every grace on this house that you need to train and raise you is coming your way now!
– Everyone whose potential has been covered, tonight the cover is being taken off now
