Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 5th November 2023
Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 5th November 2023 – Today’s Word with Joel & Victoria Osteen. Read Sunday Daily Devotional Message by Joel Osteen.
TOPIC: Release It
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
1 Peter 5:7, TLB – Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.
TODAY’S WORD
God puts promises and dreams in our hearts. We know that we’re going to get well or that our business is going to turnaround. But God doesn’t tell us how or when it’s going to happen. Too often if it’s not happening the way we think or on our timetable, we get anxious. We put God in a box and tell Him how to do it, when it should happen, and who to use, which only leads to more frustration. Here’s the key: Once you pray, once you believe, you have to leave how and when God does it up to Him. God’s ways are not our ways. Sometimes it’s taking longer because He has something better in store. You have to trust God’s timing and trust His ways. It may not happen the way you think or when you had planned. If you’re trying to control the outcome and time frame, you’re going to live worried. You have to release control. Release having to have it happen your way.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You are in control of all the situations in my life and You are fighting my battles. I choose to let go of the worrisome, anxious thoughts that trap me in worry and discouragement. I declare that my trust is in You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
About Joel Osteen
Raised in Houston, Texas, with a loving family of seven and world-renowned parents in full-time ministry, Joel Osteen never imagined that he would follow so closely in his father’s footsteps. As a young man, his training and interests were behind the scenes in television production, though he was close to his father in ministry.
His father always encouraged him to preach, but Joel would politely decline time and time again until one day in October 1999 when his father was admitted to the hospital with kidney complications. Joel finally agreed to preach the next Sunday, and his father passed the following week. Joel’s first sermon was the last his father ever heard. Joel and his wife, Victoria, were suddenly thrust into full-time leadership of Lakewood Church.
