Today’s Scripture
1 Peter 5:5, NIV – All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.
Today’s Word
There are times when God asks us to do what seems hard to be quiet when someone offends us, to not get even, to not prove we re right. You have to put your pride down and say, I will stop the argument. My happiness is not dependent on them doing it my way. I will say I’m sorry and ask for forgiveness.
Many relationships could be saved if we start walking in humility, honoring God by honoring one another. The healing for many relationships is in humbling yourself and doing your part to get along. You have to make the first move. When they see you not being stubborn, not having to have your way, things will begin to change. It needs to be what you can do to strengthen the relationship, not what they can do.
You can’t make them change, but if you treat them with respect and do what you can to honor them, be kind and serve them, those seeds you’re sowing will come back to you.
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that there is healing and restoration in my relationships when I walk in humility and obey Your word to me. Help me to humble myself, swallow my pride, and do the thing You’re asking me to do when I don’t understand. I will be the one to sow seeds of humility. In Jesus Name, Amen.
