GoodNews Daily Devotional 18th February 2022 MESSAGE
The world-renown artist Pablo Picasso said, “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break
them like an artist.” Rules were made to be broken. If you don’t believe me, ask God.
The Law is a body of rules that were put into place to prove that where there are rules, they will be broken. Apostle Paul said it this way, “But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law, sin was dead.” That simply means that whenever you introduce the “thou shalts” and “thou shalt nots” of the Law, you create an opportunity for sin. The presence of the rules makes people want to break them.
Does that mean you should live a life of chaos, refusing to abide by rules and laws that
have been set in place? A thousand times no! The Bible tells us that the powers that be are ordained of God, and certain rules have been set in place for our protection.
But there is no law that can ever satisfy the demands of a righteous God. That is why Christ came. In Him, all the demands of the Law were fulfilled. We are no longer motivated by rules or fear of the threat of punishment but by grace. Grace does not give license to sin. In fact, any environment where sin is abounding is not because of the biblical teaching of grace, but the absence of it. Sin leads to shame and disgrace. But where grace enters, disgrace leaves.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Grace is the standard for my life. I have grace to increase, grace to spread, grace for healing, grace to win souls, grace for business ideas, grace to prosper. Every grace to which I am connected is functioning and increasing in my life now!
