Daily Fountain Devotional 23 May 2020 for Anglican Communion
TOPIC: Arise, Oh God!
TEXT: Psalm 68:1-20(NKJV)
STUDY: Today we see a prayer for God’s intervention in the lives of the wicked and the righteous. God is requested to scatter the wicked, make them run away from His presence, blow them away like the wind, melt them like wax in a fire and make them to perish (vs. 1-2).
However, for the righteous, God is requested to make them glad, rejoice, happy and joyful. They are to sing praises to God and extol His name (vs. 3-4).
God is a father to orphans and a defender of widows (v.5). Hence, Christians should be thankful to God – our Saviour – and burden bearer (v.19). Our God not only saves but He also helps us escape from death (v.20).
Daily Fountain Devotional 23 May 2020 – Arise, Oh God!
Beloved, when God arises, it is either to bless or to judge. If judged by God’s standard, will you be seen as righteous or wicked? No matter what you are going through, God can arise and bring a change in your life. Jesus loves you and is ready to save you if you answer His invitation in Matthew 6:33. Come to Christ today and God will arise on your behalf.
PRAYER: Father, arise to scatter your enemies and to save your people in Jesus name. Amen.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: “Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven.” (Psalm 107:28)
