Bedtime Prayer – August 6, 2026 – Night Prayer for Thursday | Peace in the Midst of Storms
God’s peace is deeper than storms—rest in His calm tonight.
BIBLE VERSE
Mark 4:39 KJV — And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
MESSAGE
The disciples were terrified as the storm raged around them. Waves crashed, winds howled, and fear consumed their hearts. Yet Jesus, with a single command, calmed the chaos: “Peace, be still.” The storm obeyed, and a great calm followed.
Tonight, you may feel as though storms surround you—not of wind and waves, but of worries, responsibilities, or uncertainties. Yet the same Jesus who calmed the sea speaks peace over your life. His authority extends beyond nature to the storms within your heart.
Notice that Jesus did not simply remove the disciples from the storm; He revealed His power in the midst of it. Sometimes God does not take us out of difficulty immediately, but He shows us His presence and authority within it. That revelation brings peace deeper than circumstances.
As you prepare for sleep, imagine Jesus standing over the storms of your mind, speaking “Peace, be still.” Let His words quiet your racing thoughts and calm your anxious heart. Sleep becomes a sacred act of trust when you allow His peace to settle over you.
BEDTIME PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the One who calms storms. Tonight, I bring You the storms within me—the worries, the fears, the uncertainties. Speak Your peace over my heart and mind. Let Your calm settle into my spirit and guide me into restful sleep. Guard my home and loved ones, and let Your presence be our shelter. May I wake tomorrow with renewed strength and confidence in Your authority. In Your name, Amen.
