TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 1 Peter 4-5
TEXT: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and a 6 months. James 5 :17.
Message: When Jesus commenced his teaching on prayer in Luke 18 :1; He said “Men ought always to pray and not to faint” When you see the word ‘men’ or ‘man’ in the Bible, most times, it speaks of maturity. Meaning that the matured ought to pray; implying that your maturity as a believer is known by your prayer life. When you see a believer who has no disciplined prayer life, it is an advanced sign of immaturity.
For a believer to have an inconsistent prayer life is a sign of gross immaturity and this makes him vulnerable. Your time of prayer and fellowship with God requires conscious effort to cultivate and maintain it. You must make deliberate attempts to have a prayer life that nothing else interferes with.
When I get into my prayer closet, even my family members steer clear because God is first on my list of priorities. A believer’s prayer life ought to be blazing and a no-go area for the enemy. A prayer altar that is current in destiny matters, communing regularly with the Spirit and issuing commands that control the course of the day, is what a believer should have.
When you set a specific time to pray, do your best to maintain it. Invest your human effort in it to enforce discipline on yourself just to regularly keep this date with God. If you have to eat light, sleep early or any other thing that can facilitate your promptness and regularity in your prayer place and time, follow the routine.
Child of God, it is time to structure your prayer life. It is time to get addicted to the Word of God and fuel your prayer life. When you have low content of the Word, you generate low spiritual energy.
PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, help me Holy Spirit to quicken my prayer life.
