Outline: We can really be astonished by the beauty of some places in the world, especially when we are visiting for the first time. However, when we consider the creation, we see that it displays God’s glory and beauty not just for sometimes but every day. In this passage, the Psalmist outlines the things that God created from day four to six (Genesis 1:14–31), as acts for which we should praise God.
What do you observe from vv.19–23 about time and man’s activities in relation to other creatures?
Read v.24 again and take a fresh look at your environment. Can you see the variety of God’s creation in your surrounding? Different plants, animals, and even people, all reveal the wisdom of our God.
What attribute of God can you see in vv.27–28? God is our ultimate provider and sustainer but parents and governments, as God’s agents, also have the responsibility to provide for their children and people (cf. Luke 12:42). Vv.28–30 show that we need to praise God because he is sovereign. We owe our lives to his breath in us (Genesis 1:27).
