DAILY GUIDE 13TH JANUARY 2024 OUTLINE BELOW:
Jesus had left Judea for Galilee. His journey was interrupted by a very fruitful ministry at the Samaritan town of Sychar. Despite the “abundant harvest”, Jesus left and moved to Galilee, but away from His hometown where He may not even be acknowledged (v.44). What can we learn from Jesus’ attitude to ministry and success?
He was welcomed by the Galileans. Why? See v.46. If Jesus came to your home today, will He be welcomed because you seek some miracle or because you have made Him Lord of your life and home?
The Capernaum official whose son was critically ill (vs.46b–47) moved from being a miracle seeker (v.48) to a firm believer, along with his household (v.53). How did this come about? Read v.50. Note that the miracle followed his faith, not the other way round (cf. Mark 16:17). The ruler believed Jesus’ word and left to return home without Jesus. What a great example of taking Jesus at His word.

So? Don’t run after signs and wonders. They will follow your faith in Christ.
