SCRIPTURE: Luke 2:45 (KJV)
And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
When Jesus was twelve, His parents took Him to Jerusalem for the Passover Feast. This was their custom every year (Luke 2:41-42 KJV). This particular year however something happened. When they left to return home, Jesus was not in the company of people traveling with them. The strange thing about it was that they took a whole day to notice it.
The Bible tells us that they went back to Jerusalem, and after searching for Him for three days, they finally found Him (Luke 2:46 KJV). You might wonder how His parents did not realize that One so precious was not where they thought He was, but missing Jesus is more common than you might think. It is possible to be missing Jesus and not know it. You have the assurance as a Christian that the Lord will never leave you, but it is up to you to ensure no distance between you.
There is no need for your Bible to gather dust when you can have sweet fellowship with the Word. If you want to hear the voice of God, go back to the place of prayer. Go back to your first love (Revelation 2:4-5 KJV). Never let a day go by without talking to Him and spending time with Him. Then, you will not have to search for Him. He will be right there waiting for you.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
My devotion to God shall never dwindle. I’m going deeper in prayer and increasing in fervour by the fire of the Holy Ghost. I decree and declare I am a burning one!
