In New Testament times, it was the exception for believers not to have received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, with the supernatural sign and initial evidence of speaking in tongues. The Epistles were written to believers who knew Jesus as Savior and who had been filled with the Holy Spirit.

Thank God, the Holy Spirit is in us too. But too often people who have been born again and then filled with the Spirit just think of themselves as having received a blessing or some kind of experience — and they miss entirely what the Word of God teaches! A Divine Personality actually comes to live in us! God Himself in the Person of the Holy Spirit indwells us!
CONFESSION: God Himself in the Person of the Holy Spirit indwells me. The Creator dwells in me. God lives in me.
