TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Romans 13:1 (KJV) Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
GoodNews Daily Devotional 13th September 2022 MESSAGE
I am amazed at how Christians treat people in Leadership, whether in the Church or civic. Let’s begin with the house of God where it has become apparent that genuine honour is now very difficult to find in the church. Church leaders who are supposed to be held in high esteem are treated casually and with no due honour even amongst their own congregants.
How do you expect to be blessed by God when you disregard the authority that he has placed over you? The scripture for today is very bold in saying that all powers (authorities) are ordained by God. It means God allows that authority to be over you for a reason. Until or unless you learn to honour your leaders regardless of their age, your next level of pro- motion continues to be pending and you don’t know why.
If you understand that God places high value on honour and respect, you will see a change in your personal life when you walk in that lane. The way in which you honour those placed in authority over you will determine your next level. The Bible is filled with the outpouring of blessings upon those who honour their spiritual authorities. When you want to be honoured and promoted, you must practise honour.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
Through Christ, I have the wisdom to honour the authority above me. I know by honouring others; God will honour me and increase me. Honour will be my standard to God, to authorities and to others from now on. Hallelujah!
