TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Revelation 19:15 (KJV) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword,

GoodNews Daily Devotional 28th August 2022 MESSAGE

John was on the Isle of Patmos when he saw a wondrous revelation of Jesus, the Word of God. Proceeding out of the mouth of Jesus was a sharp or swift sword. The word ‘mouth’ in that verse is translated from the Greek word ‘stoma’, which means ‘the edge of the sword’. The book of Hebrews 4:12 (AMPC) tells us that ‘the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energising, and effective];

it is sharper than any two edged sword.’ So, we have the mouth that is described as the edge of a sword, and the Word of God, which is described as sharper than a two-edged sword. The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:17 that we are just like Jesus: ‘as He is, so are we in this world.’ That means your mouth is also a knife. Combined with the word of  God, you have everything you need to cut down any negative situation in your life.

When you talk, you are cutting things down to size. The word in your mouth is active, effective, and full of power. It is sharper and more precise than a surgeon’s knife. So, when you are faced with what seems like an insurmountable problem, do not stay quiet. Instead, engage your weapons and declare what your future will be. The word of God in your mouth will cut every problem into pieces!

I cut debt out of my life! Any growth, lump, or tumour in my body is removed without a trace. I speak wonders into my life, and by my words, I carve out a door of opportunity that gives me access to my prosperity!
