TOPIC: The Grace Of Association
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 19:24 (KJV) And [Saul] stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
GoodNews Daily Devotional 25th August 2022 MESSAGE
We live in a day and age where the church is preoccupied with generational curses rather than generational blessings. Many are focused on the negative aspects of association rather than the possibilities of the right association. Whilst the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that bad company corrupts good character, have you taken the time to consider what good company can do for you?
There is power in associating with the right person. In our scripture for today, we have the account of Saul. At this specific moment in Saul’s life, he was driven by the demonic, consumed by pride, and obsessed by his bloodthirsty desire for revenge. Yet, when he got in the presence of Samuel, the prophet of God, it seemed as if God ignored the blackness of Saul’s heart, and Saul also prophesied.
Those who knew what he was like were so shocked that they said, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” When you associate yourself with the right person – submitting to them and partnering with them – the grace that is on their life becomes your grace. Their grace becomes your advantage. That grace does not come on you because you are good or because you do everything right. It is simply by association.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION
By reason of my association, I shall rise and not go down! I see beyond what I have seen. I hear beyond what I have heard! I experience beyond my experiences, in the name of Jesus! Hallelujah!
