Today’s Seeds of Destiny 25 January 2018 Daily Devotional – Dr Pastor Paul Enenche

TOPIC: Two Groups of People on the Earth

SCRIPTURE: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth.
It has been discovered that there are two groups of people in this world – people of conviction and people of consensus.

MESSAGE: People of conviction know what they want out of life as well as what pleases God. People of consensus, on the other hand, only follow what other people do.

People of consensus are people who have no mind of their own but follow what people do. Someone may wake up one morning and start dressing up in a certain seductive way and before long, everyone else joins him or her. Another person may begin to practice one evil act or lifestyle, and before you realise it, everyone else joins him or her in the act without knowing why he or she is doing it.

People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth because their lives do not matter for anything, especially in the area of opinion or initiative. They are the type of people I choose to refer to as pieces of statistical material. That is people who are not relevant to anything except population census.

Being a person of conviction may make you appear controversial to people, especially people of conformity and compromise. When you make up your mind to be a person of conviction and to stand alone on the ground of righteousness, people may confront you with questions like, ‘Who do you think you are? What do you want to prove? Are you the only person who goes to church? Is everyone not doing it?’ but never falter in your resolve to be upright in all your conducts.

People of conviction stand for what they know while people of consensus do not have a stand; they only live to follow what others do.

Beloved, endeavour to be a person of conviction instead of being a person of consensus.

REMEMBER THIS: People of conviction are consequential while people of consensus are inconsequential on earth.

ASSIGNMENTS: Seeds of Destiny 25 January 2018 Daily Devotional
      1. Make up your mind to be a person of conviction.
      2. Do not follow the bandwagon effect of this generation.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask that You make me a person of conviction. I refuse to follow the bandwagon effect of this generation, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

AMAZING FACT: Babies are born with 300 bones, but by adulthood, the number is reduced to 206.

TODAY IN HISTORY: 25/01/1961 – John F. Kennedy presented the first live presidential news conference from Washington, DC. The event was carried on radio and television

      DAILY READING: Genesis 50:1 to Ex 2:10, Matthew 16:13 to 17:9, Psalm 21:1 to 13, Proverbs 5:1 to 6.

QUOTE: A wise man is a generational asset; a foolish man is a generational liability. Culled from ‘Wisdom; Life’s Greatest Necessity’ by Dr Paul Enenche.

Today’s Seeds of Destiny 25 January 2018 Daily Devotional was written by Dr Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), headquartered at Abuja, Nigeria, with Pastor Paul and Becky Enenche, as the Senior Pastors.
