THE UPPER ROOM DEVOTIONAL 17TH JUNE 2025, TUESDAY MESSAGE
Read The Upper Room Devotional 17 June 2025 written by Jether Ann Rizaldo (Benguet, Philippines)
TOPIC: Enough
Today’s Reading
Psalm 107:1-9
The Lord said, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” – Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
I once saw a woman with a tattoo on her wrist that simply said, “Enough.” Although I wondered what it meant to her, I didn’t give it much more thought.
After retirement, I began questioning my identity, my self-worth, and my life’s purpose. For nearly 50 years, I had identified myself by my profession — first, as an attorney, then a judge, and finally as a professor. But when I left the workplace, I no longer knew how I should introduce myself or what value I contributed to the world.
Then I remembered the woman’s tattoo: “Enough.”
My worth is not dependent upon the title I have or the position I hold. The Bible says that my accomplishments have no bearing on God’s love for me. God’s loving presence will direct my steps in all that I do.
When I feel unworthy or uneasy about myself, I am assured that the Lord loves me regardless of how well I am performing. And that is enough!
Today’s Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, when we look to earthly accomplishments for our sense of purpose, help us to remember that in your eyes we are always enough. Amen.
Thought for the Day
In God’s eyes, I am enough!
Prayer Focus
Gratitude for God’s unconditional love
