THE UPPER ROOM DEVOTIONAL 10TH JUNE 2025, TUESDAY MESSAGE
Read The Upper Room Devotional 10 June 2025 written by Anna Blanc (Missouri, USA)
TOPIC: God’s Best
Today’s Reading
Psalm 139:13-18
I am fearfully and wonderfully made. – Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
This week I am with my family in one of our favorite places on earth: Colorado. Surrounded by mountains layered in grays and purples in the distance, and orange and pink sunsets touching the horizon, I can’t help but think about God’s displays of beauty. And yet, God’s biggest display is one I don’t have to leave home to see — and one I often forget to notice. God’s beauty is on display through the people God has made.
Human beings are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps. 139:14), images of their Creator. To each of us God has instilled a part of the divine likeness so that in our uniqueness we can reveal something of the nature of God to those whose paths we cross: the weary woman in the check-out line, the man with his cardboard sign beside the road.
Today I want to ask God to help me to see the beauty in humanity, to believe the best of others, and to reach out and serve faithfully. May I never treat as a nuisance — or worse yet, overlook entirely — a person that God has counted as a pearl of great price (see Matt. 13:45-46). I want to slow down, look around, and recognize God’s image in every person I meet.
Today’s Prayer
Creator God, give us eyes to see the people around us today the way you see them. Help my heart to love them as you do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Thought for the Day
I will honor the image of God in the people I encounter today.
Prayer Focus
To grow in love for my neighbors
