The Upper Room 29 November 2021 Daily Devotional Message
Worry is a natural, human response to challenging situations. Years ago I contracted life-threatening malaria and typhoid fever, and I worried I would die.
Then one day I felt God saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” From that time on, I converted my worries and anxieties into prayers, and my faith in God grew. I studied more of God’s word as I made my requests known to God. The apostle Paul told the Philippians not to be anxious about anything; rather, in whatever situation they found themselves, they should take all their petitions to God with thanksgiving.
God answers prayers. Dwelling on worries and doubts does no good; but when we bring our petitions to God with thanksgiving, praying with faith in our hearts, our prayers will be answered.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus, give us faith to release our worries and pray more. Help us always to be thankful for what you’ve done and what you will do. Amen.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Today I will worry less and pray more.
