Reflect Love
Juita Kartini (Jakarta, Indonesia)
TODAY’S READING
Ephesians 5:1-11
KEY VERSE: Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. – Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)
The Upper Room 28 March 2022 Daily Devotional MESSAGE
Celebrities often get the spotlight, both for their achievements and their personal lives. They are like the stars in the sky or a town on a hill — clearly visible and guaranteed to attract attention.
However, because Christians are a minority group in my country, our presence is often noticed too. Whether at school, in the office, or in our neighborhoods, hopefully people will notice us for the love we show to others through our words and deeds.
I feel that at times it can be difficult to reflect love because people are not always pleasant and my days are not always beautiful. But through daily reading of scripture, I am reminded that my words and deeds can determine whether or not God’s name will be praised and glorified by those around me.
TODAY’S PRAYER
God Almighty, help us reflect your love to others so that our words and deeds glorify you. As Jesus taught us, we pray, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen” (Matt. 6:9-13, KJV).
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I can glorify God through my actions today.
