TODAY’S READING
Philippians 4:10-13
Paul wrote, “I can endure all these things through the power of the one who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13 (CEB)
UPPER ROOM 25TH NOVEMBER 2022 DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
As I write this, I am 11 months into my journey to sobriety. It has been a difficult pathway with many challenges, but I am encouraged by Philippians 4:13. These words aid me in my recovery from addiction and empower me in my daily activities. Believing in the power of Christ makes all the difference. Although my circumstances overwhelm me at times, I gain strength from Christ.
There was a time when I thought that things would never improve, and I would have to abuse substances for the rest of my life just to cope. But Christ has given me the confidence to stay committed in my recovery and seek the spiritual, physical, and psychological healing I need. I know that I would have remained in the bondage of addiction if I had not had Christ as my source of strength. When we fix our minds on Christ and believe that through him all things are possible, it may not be easy, but Christ will strengthen us to push through.
