MEMORY VERSE
“Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.” (Psalm 89: 15)
SCRIPTURE READING: John 5: 1-12 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

Streams of Joy Wednesday July 30, 2025 Devotional – MESSAGE
Our Focal Scripture speaks of the multitude of sick folks that were in Bethesda, waiting for the moving of the water. This was in a season of the feast of Passover. At a time when others were feasting, these ones were stuck in their affliction, waiting for the stirring of the water. At a time when majority were feasting, there was a silent, groaning multitude who could not celebrate. Others were celebrating, but these ones were lamenting.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in seasons of celebration, you will not be caught lamenting. It will never be said that you were crying as others were dancing. It will never be said that you were shedding bitter tears when others were making progress. It will never be said that others were enjoying good news while you were stuck in bad news. It will never be said that you were a victim at a time when others were victorious.
If there be powers that have vowed to hold you down in bitter tears in seasons when others are celebrating and being congratulated, I decree, they will not prevail. I speak against the powers of hell that want your season of celebration to be mixed with pain and tears. I speak against every arrangement of hell that wants to make you mourn even while in Zion. I speak against every voice of pain in the midst of celebration.
Notice that the Passover was not postponed. The Passover was not cancelled. The feast of Passover was not cut short, but the struggles of this multitude of sick folks stopped them from being a part of the feast that others were part of. The feast remained, but so also did conditions that made them unable to feast like others. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every condition that wants to make you unable to feast, I decree, the end has come.
Your Passover has come, and you will not be a spectator therein. You will celebrate as others celebrate. You will feast as others feast.
