SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 13:6-9(KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Our Focal Scripture highlights the parable of the fig tree as told by Jesus. One of the highlights of this particular fig tree, was that it bore no fruits. According to agriculturists, one of the reasons why a fig tree may not bear fruit, is the lack of enough water in the soil. When the water is not enough, the fruits may not come. When the water is not enough, fruitfulness becomes a challenge. When the water is not enough, there is failure.
Friend, the scriptures compare water with the word of God (see Ephesians 5 vs. 26). When the word of the Lord is not enough in your life, you are laying the foundation for unfruitfulness. If you fail to speak the word of the Lord into the works of your hands, they may not yield fruits as desired. If you fail to speak the word of the Lord into your family, you may not get the desired results. The word of the Lord is the water that will grow your fig.
It is not enough to know the word of the Lord; be intentional to speak the word of the Lord. Speak the word of the Lord concerning your healing; speak the word of the Lord concerning your tomorrow; speak the word of the Lord concerning your future results; speak the word of the Lord concerning your destiny advancement; speak the word of the Lord concerning your resources; don’t be silent about the word of God that you know.
Spiritual warfare begins with what you say with your mouth. The words you speak with your own mouth make room for the salvation that comes your way. The word of the Lord that comes from you is a word in action. The word of the Lord that comes out of your mouth puts both heaven and hell on notice that there is a fulfillment coming ahead of you. The word of the Lord is your passcode to fruitfulness on all sides.
Welcome to that season where the word of the Lord will be your defence. Welcome to that season where you will prevail over your world with your words.
