SCRIPTURE READING: John 5: 1-14 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
FOCUS VERSE:
“The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.” (John 5: 7)
Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 11th August 2025 MESSAGE:
In our Focal Scripture, while telling the tale of his predicament at the pool of Bethesda, the man at the pool told Jesus about how he would be coming, and someone else would get in before him. So, severally, that man would begin a journey to his target, but would never get to his destination. Severally, he would begin a journey, but the journey would stop on the way. Severally, he would begin a process but never get there.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not stop on the way. Your destiny journey will not stop on the way. Your rising will not stop on the way. Your increase will not stop on the way. Your breakthrough will not stop on the way. Your miracle will not stop on the way. Your journey to the top will not stop on the way. Your congratulations will not stop on the way. Your glory season will not stop on the way.
You may have stopped on the way in time past, but as surely as the Lord lives, you will not stop on the way again. In this new season, you will get to your destination. Your family will get to their destination. Your career will get to the right destinations. Your business will get to your desired destination. Your ministry will get to the right destination. Everything concerning you will get to the right destinations, nothing missing, nothing broken.
Powers that insist you will stop on the way, I decree, they are liars. Powers that say you will keep moving but never arriving at your destination, you will never be their candidate. Every power that has arisen to stop you has been stopped by the power of God. Every system of hell or of men that has arisen to stop you has been stopped by the forces of heaven. Every voice that says you will stop on the way, has been silenced.
Your journey will no longer stop on the way. Wherever you have been previously stopped, receive grace to arrive at your destination.
Isaiah 45: 2 says: “I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:”
DECLARATION: I will not stop on the way, in Jesus’ name!
