Streams of Joy Daily Devotional 31 August 2024 (Saturday) Message

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY: “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,” (Luke 15: 18)
It is instructive to observe that despite the fact that the prodigal son made mistakes that nearly wreaked his destiny, he still got help through his father. He resolved to go back to the father after losing everything, and help was laid on his pathway. He squandered the resources he was given, he didn’t deserve a thing anymore, but help still came his way. His negative record and history did not stop help from coming his way.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: your mistakes will not stop the help of God from coming your way. Your negative history will not stop the help of God from coming your way. Your failures will not stop the help of God from coming your way. What you did wrong will not exclude you from the mercy of God. What you have been through will not hinder the mercy of God in your direction. Your sin will not stop the mercy of God.
One major reason why God instituted the covenant of mercy was because He knew that man was made from dust and may not keep up with the expectations of heaven. Mercy was God’s arrangement to help His frail creation. If you have embraced the mercies of God, then get set: mercy will speak louder than judgement. Mercy will take you into realms that you honestly do not deserve. Mercy will prevail over you.
God is sending you help that you may have judged yourself to be undeserving of. God is sending you help that will lift you out of the dust and set you amongst princes. God is sending you help that will position you for increase. God is sending you help that will transform the story of your life so much that people who knew your failures won’t believe that you could still get a chance. God is sending you help on the platter of mercy.
Welcome to that season where mercy will speak louder than judgement. Welcome to that season where your negative history and mistakes will not stop the help of God from flowing in your direction.
Psalm 103: 17 says: “But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;”
DECLARATION: My negative history will not hinder the help of God, in Jesus’ name!
